ABOUT US

Born in North Carolina, we’ve lived in this state for most of my life. We’ve also resided in NJ, PA, VA, and HI. We’ve been fortunate enough to have visited clients in just about every state, and several foreign countries. I speak just enough Spanish to get slapped by the waitress.

After finishing school and military service, I went into sales in 1966. In 1968, we both started collecting coins. Our business began in 1971, and became full time in 1976. Over this long period, we’ve developed interest and expertise with many aspects of the Numismatic and Collectible fields.

The name “Charles & Company” originated in the 70s. There were two of us working together in a different field. We were both named “Charles”. It’s just me now in this business, and the name stuck. I am the President, CEO, CFO, and just about any other C-oh you can think of. To quote a line from the movie “The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance”, “I also sweep up the place”.

We have three children and three grandchildren. If you don’t know by now, having all these little duplicates can be a humbling experience.
